Jean-Paul Viguier et Associés shared with us his project ‘Majunga Tower’, located in La Défense, Paris, France. More images and architect’s description after the break.
Contemporary tower designs reflect researches on new way of lives and the desire for modernity. « Majunga » fits within this dynamic flow of creativity and renewal.
Architectural competition brings singular responses, and projects gain their singularity from the composition of their forms. The plan’s dissymmetry in relation to its core has produced the drawing of three strips of different thicknesses. Three distinct plates thus appeared, side by side, deployed, and forming the tower’s shape. This original silhouette may be seen from the Esplanade de la Défense and creates a surprising summit which personality can be noticed from a great distance. This singular tower is anchored in the ground through the Esplanade de la Défense to a garden below.
